UK IT Industry Awards 2009 Finalists!

Norfolk Constabulary are finalists in the “Public Sector Project of the Year” category for Intelligence Briefing & Tasking...

Recent Case Studies...

Intelligence Briefing & Tasking System
Utilising BPEL and fusing service orientated architecture with virtual technology, enAct is able to deliver rich multi-media content and outcome based tasking via a configurable business process. The processes can be embedded with policies such as the Victims Code and the tracking Policing Pledge indicators. The solution integrates Microsoft Services such as PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook, while offering a light-touch application providing monitoring, escalation, and document management; all based on enCircle’s light-weight BPEL engine.

Document & Records Management (OCR, Workflow, & Retention)
enCircle’s BPEL engine and the enAct workflow platform are being used for processing thousands of “Stop & Search” forms within UK Police forces. Robust and cost-effective Fujitsu fi-5110cdj scanners have been distributed to regional stations and divisional units. These scanners send images to Centera EMC storage devices in order to provide BS-0008 compliance for the legal weighting of digital evidence within UK courts.

Process & Activity Based Costing
The enAct framework is being employed by UK Police Forces to collect and validate their Activity Analysis data. The system uses enCircle’s BPEL and Service Orientated technologies to provide information from existing business intelligence data stores and enrich this with additional levels of information from manual sources where required. PDA & Blackberry support are also provided using the latest Java Mobile Development Platform.

Latest White Paper...

Vehicle Recovery Administration
An issue faced by many UK Police Forces is how to reduce the costs of handling stolen, abandoned, or illegally parked cars around the country. The government has strict guidelines to follow, and the costs of retention and disposal can divert much needed resources from front line policing. enCircle intend to maximise on the configurable nature of their enAct Business Process engine, and open the way to a more streamlined and automated Vehicle Recovery and Administration process. The entire system will provide real-time business intelligence, analytics, and reporting, along with driving down the retention and disposal costs through monitoring or Key Performance Indicators.

By using Web Services & BPEL (the language of business process), enCircle hope to deliver a comprehensive end-to-end system that integrates to the DVLA and other partner organisations, automatically and seamlessly blending the roles and information required.

Naturally the core solution will be open source and available without licensing restrictions!

After nominating Norfolk Constabulary for the prestigious “Public Sector Project of the Year” category, enCircle were delighted to hear they reached the final short list.

This re-enforces the methodology that enCircle use to create a low-cost process, and service orientated technical solution, that closely supports the business way of working, rather than forcing the business to change it’s very nature.
Norfolk Constabulary announced they would employ the services of enCircle to rapidly develop a new system to support their Intelligence Briefing and Tasking business processes.

The solution was developed & implemented within 6 weeks, within budget. Using “tagging” logic to assign certain PowerPoint Slides to Roles and Locations, officers now see the content relevant to them, and are tasked far more
